Stupid steering column
Need Help! I have a 93 f150 auto with tilt steering. I am trying to replace the bearings for the upper shaft to take the slop out of the column. Got everything loose and was pulling the column flange off, but the ignition switch linkage held it in place. I removed the key tumbler out and it wouldn't come loose, then I took the ignition switch off from the column thinking it would let the linkage slide up. Still no luck. I know it has to be something stupid, some pin or something like that, but danged if I can find it.

to replace the bearings you have to take it apart from the bottom half
pull the column lock off the very bottom and the n the lower housing and then you cane remove the shaft and other parts from the upper tube
easier to find a used one at the junk yard
i paid 35.00 for a used one at a upullit
