Park into Drive/Reverse
My 2003 Explorer xls 4x4 truck is Locking in the park position. It happens every 6 or 7th start then it will stay locked a few more times then it will stop. But, once the truck is running for about 5 minutes it will unlock. Any Ideas? I have heard it may be the Solenoid. Is it expensive to fix? Please Help....

I dont have a wiring diagram for an 03, but the way these usually work is the stop light switch is wired to a splice.
One wire from the splice connects to the brake lights, another wire connects to the shift lock actuator.
If this is how yours is wired & if the brake lights are not working when it wont shift, the most likely problem is a flaky brake light switch.
Take a look at your wiring diagram.
