hey all, first time poster, love the board. question, i have a 97 f150 with 4.6, wont start. replaced fuel filter and crankshaft position sensor. i can smell gas and hear the pump prime, i think i have no spark. i dont know where to go from here. any ideas, would love to hear some. i checked all fuses and made sure all relays are seated, has 1/4 tank of gas. turns over fine, just wont fire. please help. thanks
lxman1, no i havent checked that yet. i have a relative in the business and he told me that it will still run if the cam sensor went bad, just not right. i got a hold of some wiring diagrams this morning and some other people think it might be the PCM diode or relay. would really like to get this figured out so i dont have to tow it to the shop(30 miles one way). it just seems like if i had spark it would start. i hate electrical problems. i'm going to mess with it after work. thanks for the reply
thats kinda what i'm hoping. funny story, the same day my truck died, so did my boat. had to get towed back to the dock. i didnt touch anything else that day. still havent figured out what is wrong with the boat but its a carbed motor with no electronics(gm350 v-8) hope its easier than this one. thanks for your help. will keep posting when i find problem, hopfully it will help someone else.
