The logical answer is a differential pressure problem means you have too much pressure on one side of the sensor compared to the other side. I say logical because I didn't know that EGRs used differential pressure sensors. Most pressure sensors measure one pressure in relation to some other pressure which is usually normal atmospheric pressure. However differential pressure sensors don't use the atmosphere as the reference pressure but actually compares two pressures and/or vacuums. Therefore try to clean the valve first since that is cheaper. Also make sure the ports leading to the two sides of the differential pressure sensor are clean.
