Sound is a very subjective thing. What sounds good to one might be just noise to others. A search here should give you a variety of opinions. Good Luck.
You could try the exhaust forum as well. They're good with that.
Drop by www.exhaustsoundclips.com. They've got recording from all kinds of mufflers. They even have a dedicated 3.0L area!
I've got the 4.0L, but I'm running a Flowmaster 40 series with two turndowns at the exit, no tailpipes, and love the sound. Very deep, aggressive, quiet in cruise, good rumbling idle, and loud as everything when you get on it.
flowmaster, hands down.
i've got one 40 series with the tails at the corners of the bumper with 3" magnaflow stainless tips. i forget that its only a 3.0 making that sweet sound sometimes! no ricer sound either.
Thats alot of good cat backs out, you got borla, gibson, magnaflow, dynomax, and flowmaster. The flowmaster 40 seres is the loudest, not all flowmasters, just the 40. That doen't mean it's the best, just the loudest. The best rumble at idle, and low growl would be the borla, so it all depends on what you want, there all good in thier own way, but if you want loud, it's flowmaster 40.
If you are planning on hot-rodding it up through the RPMs, one of my absolute fav things about the Flowmaster 40 is when you get way up in the RPMs, say 4K or 4500, and you drop the throttle and slam the clutch to shift, it makes this badass noise I can only compare to a very loud, very deep, turbo blowoff.
