Some 06 questions

Hello all. I have a few questions for ya about my 06 F350, CC, Long Bed, 4x4, Auto

1) sometimes when the tranny is shifting the engine revs right before the shift. Seems like it does this more during slow/normal acceleration. Doesn't seem to affect anything, but doesn't seem normal. What do you guys think?

2) Truck wouldn't start on first attempt yesterday. Seemed to be turning over fine. I don't let it crank very long, but it started right up on second attempt. My truck is parked on a slight incline. 04 always started, and this one has except for that one time. Any ideas?

3) I pulled my first trailer a few weeks ago. It is a 20'+ gooseneck with 3 8000lb torsion axels. Great breaks. I set brake controller (Factory tow command) and headed on my way. When I came to my first stop and applied pressure to my truck breaks everything felt okay with the trailer until I almost came to a stop and it really pulled hard or snaged. Didn't do it again. Brakes seemed to work okay. My dad pulled the trailer with his 04 yesterday and called to let me know he had hardly any brakes on the trailer. Had his controller set to 8-9 instead of 2-3 (which is what we usually use). Any ideas? All of our trailers are 6 pin so we both have 6 pin on our trucks. This was my first pull with the 06, never had that snag/ or jolt with my 04.

4) Finally we get some rain, and I felt some very slight moisture that came from my moonroof. Can feel moisture at the rear underside of the moonroof along the back of the weather seal. Is this normal. I have read about drains, but not sure if this is right. Was some pretty hard rain.

Thanks guys, love the truck. I think this is a great model. I loved my 04, but the new dash in the 05 and 06 along with the headlights and grill make this the perfect truck. I am thinking this one will be mine for at least a decade, Thanks agian, Levi

I understand your point number 2.

My 06 F350 Diesel doesn't start as easy as my 04 F250 Diesel. Sometimes it takes a couple of cranks for it to start. I figure it's emissions or something.

In response to your first point, what you're describing sounds like shift flair. It's almost like you pushed in the clutch and gave it a little too much gas right before you let the clutch all the way back out (if you had a manual). Mine's done it since day one, but has only done it on the 3 to 4 shift. It doesn't do it all the time and varies in severity. It improved some when I got the last flash but it's still there. This seems to be pretty common with the torqshift tranny based on numerous comments on this site in the past.

Excellent post!!!
I honestly have never heard the term shift flair and you precisely desrcibed what I sometimes experience during very light acceleration (only) during the 3-4 shift. No other shifts are affected and I've never really considered it a problem per se. Also, tow/haul mode seems to shift 3-4 quite firm.

Levi, FWIW: My 06 starts almost as easy as my 03 did although sometimes I do have to hit the starter a second time-

I had the same problem betwean the 3 and 4 shift. Not telling you to get a tuner to correct this, but the tuner I am running it hasnt happened once since I installed it.
