Well, it got to 116F where I live today, and my house was still at 90F at midnight.
But I thought it would be a great opportunity to test my newly charged AC in my van. I got some results that I need help interpreting. At 115F ambient, my compressor was going non-stop, but I could not get less than 70F from the central register. When I turned on the rear air, the front temp crept up to 75F. If this is not normal, what could be the problem? I have been reading numbers like 30-40 from other folks here. Do you happen to know what your ambient temperatures were at the time?
6:30 a.m. in Anaheim and my air is on in the house. Been like this for weeks. I am going to hate to see my electric bill. Will be in the pool ALL DAY today. Damn pool water temp is 85 deg. f, can't cool down much but it helps.
It's R12 converted to Envirosafe (butane/propane mix). I installed 4 cans; 6 ounce each is supposed to be equivalent to 18 ounces of R12 each, so it's supposed to be like 72 ounces of R12. The system calls for 64 ounces of R12. Not sure how much oil is in the system, but I added about an ounce to try to compensate for the amount I saw that leaked out of the various fittings.
It was a little cooler this morning, and I heard the AC cycling, but it only got to about 60F.
My house only got to 90F this afternoon. It's nearly midnight, and with all the fans running, I'm seeing 84F. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to install AC in the house.
My counter of electryc power was stolen lust year, and power supply company sent me a message to pay every mounth for 150 kwh, so I can see no reason for power economy.... It seems to me I use a bit more then 150 kw*h.... becouse I have 4 bedroom apertment, not so big as a house... Fortunatli electric energy is cheap in Ukraine, becouse we have atomic power plants.
