Driving through some rain tonight and noticed some very small bits of moisture hitting my arm while driving from the moonroof. Seems to be coming from the back of the moonroof. I could feel moisture up there. Is this normal? (hope not). What are the fixes. Love the moon roof. Truck is an 06 F350 CC. Thanks Levi
I would park on a flat surface, and then open the sunroof. Look to see it it's wet up around the inner frame area, if it is, water is being trapped. Most sliding sunroofs have a front pillar drain system, you should have two drain hoses, front left and front right corner. They can get clogged with dirt, sticks and leaves. I had one truck that never got clogged, but my Jeep Grand Cherokee always got clogged for some reason. It's always good to take a quick look, might be an easy fix if that's what the actual problem was.
I've actually poured water out of a small water bottle in the inside drip frame before just to make sure it was draining. If you look under the truck, it should be running out somewhere just in front of the front doors.
I would check the draining first - as mentioned previously.
Hint: Don't use compressed air to blow out the drain lines on a sunroof, lest you blow the plastic drain line off the fitting inside the roof near the sunroof.
If you have an '06, it might be under warranty, right?
where are the sunroof drain tubes exactly? Mine might be plugged. In mild weather, I'm finding water on the passenger floor mat, and inside glove box. Now that it's winter, I think i can hear ice moving around inside the roof reinforcments (above overhead console, and behind sunroof).
