Hesitation Problem

If the codes keep coming back, I would take care of that. If they just need to be reset, unhook your battery for a good 15 minutes. That should clear the codes for you (works for me) or just have someone with a code reader reset them for you.

I had the check engine light reset, and it will stay off for a couple of day. Then it comes back on with the P0171 & P0174 codes. My next step is to try to figure out what is causing those codes even though the truck is running fine now.

A lot of people in this forum have said that replacing all 4 O2 sensors solved this problem. I would try cleaning your MAF first though.

I already cleaned the MAF. Replacing all the O2 sensors is the most expensive route, so I'm trying all else before I go down that road.

If been reading a lot about those codes relating to the MAF. Usually fixed by cleaning it with contact cleaner. I've had the same codes and did the procedure with mine (very easy). So far so good. Some one posted directions and pictures on how to do it. Search for MAF, You'll prob find it. If you find the fix let me know. I might need to do the same.
