1965 accelerator linkage

I have been trying to see from any source what type of linkage originally came with my truck. The original 352 was replaced with a 360 out of a '74 F250. There is currently an accelerator cable hooked up to the pedal link. Now is this correct or did the truck actually use an accelerator shaft instead. From the holes on my firewall a shaft would need to line up with the throttle linkage on my Autolite 2100, but instead the holes are quite a ways to the left.

65 had a cable setup. The 360 is the same size. You can't tell the difference by looking at it from a 352. You should have no problem using your existing cable. The original was 20 inches long.

Great, that answers that question. Now all I have to do is take a very close look at what seems to be make do connection on the driver's side of the firewall that holds the cable as it exits out front. Doesn't look stock to me.

The cable has a tab on it that has a hole in it to bolt it a bracket on the intake manifold. The bracket has a slot in it.
