I want to remove the three main verticle dash trim pieces to paint them. How do you remove them? It seems like the pieces interlock and I was wondering if anyone has done this previously...
I don't know exactly which parts you want off, but if it's all the trim around the radio then I should be able to help. Here is what your dash sorta looks like. You will need to pull out the cup holder, they don't come right out just pull them out like normal. You next sneek you finger up behind the trim that runs around the cig lighter the climate controls and radio. There is six metal clips that hold this bad boy on. You will have to pull hard as it's real tight coming out the first time. I used a flat blade screwdriver wrapped in a rag to help pry it out. This will be the hardest part of the whole thing.
Once you do get that part off you will see this. The rubber liner pulls out, then the plastic tray has two bolts on the front. Once you get the bolts out it slides forward and pops out. http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/3982/dsc00049dm8.jpg
I guess I only had a couple more pics to go. Here is the big *** hole that is behind the radio/ cd player. I don't have the 6 disc changer so that might get filled with that.
Oh ya once you get the dash trim off you can take out the cup holders and stuff out pretty easy. Just a couple more bolts to find. There is so much room to work in there, makes things easy.
