Toolbox Mount

I have a tool box mounted in my truck. When I bought the truck it was mounted with 3/8" bolts going from the inside of the tool box on the bottom and then going through the floor.

What I want to do is use the existing holes so I don't need to drill new ones, then I also want a way to secure the tool box to the bed so:

1) I can only release it from the inside

and

2) I don't another person to release it.

Anyone have an idea of a fastener of some sort that would allow me to secure this and remove it with one person?

Thanks.

I put the bolts through from underneath, and tack welded the heads to the underside of the bed's top, then dropped the box on top of those, and for nuts I used 2" diameter plastic ***** with a stainless nut inside. I got the ****/nuts at ace hardware for something like $2 each.

Though, I've not taken the tool box out. It's quite full and very heavy.

how about stove bolts from underneath similar to how frederic did it. no need to weld anything then.

On my toolox, there are two question mark ( ? ) shaped bolts that go through holes in the toolbox and then they hook to the lip of the bedrail. When you tighten them down, the toolbox is held firmly to the truck bed and they can only be loosened from inside the toolbox.

They sound like they would be OK to take off with one person but I might need someone else to help me put them back in.

What I think I will do is similar to what frederic said, but instead of welding I am just going to use epoxy. Welding just isn't as clean and I have used epoxies before, they seem to work well for me.

Thanks.

actually, its quite easy to put them in and out by yourself. just position the toolbox where you want it and slip the bolts up through the holes and tighten till the hook is tight under the ledge.
