Dead water temp gauge
1986 Econoline 350 V-8 (460 cid??) C-class motorhome.
The water temp gauge on my motorhome suddenly stopped working on my last excursion with the vehicle. No needle movement at all. At the time of occurrence, I searched this forum, and found several tips about how to troubleshoot which part of the system was faulty. BUT I've tried again recently to find the thread, and cannot seem to locate it :-(
Can anybody provide advice how I should proceed with finding what part of the system (sender, thermostat, gauge, etc) is at fault. I am a novice "mechanic", so please keep the expanation at a basic level.

carbed? if so your coolant temp sender sould be on top of rhe engine. on the 351 its right behind the dizzy cap to the right. it will have a wire coming of it. check the connection. its a brass collored part that is screwed straight down into the intake manifold.
the part should come with some teflon tape already on the threads.
if its a deisel the sensor is located on the very front of the engine. behind the water pump. about 1 o'clock as u look from the front.
