I have a rubbing noise in the floor board by my feet from the front left wheel. Only happens when going around a right hand curve. Its not noticable when making a right hand turn, probably cause I'm not going fast enough. Sounds like its comming from a rotating part. To top things off I recently had an solid ABS light come on and stay. I really don't think its the brakes (though I plan to change them soon). I haven't had a chance to look at them yet. and I know its not tire rub.
I'm out of state for the week and plan to handle it first thing when I get home next weekend. Anyone have thoughts or some advice. I can change my own brakes or something like an alternator but I'm definately not a mechanic and have no idea where to start or what to check. I need some help.
Stock 2001 F-350 AT w/ Manual 4x4, 285's SRW CC LB, 109k
It makes the noise as I'm driving down the road but only when turning around a right hand curve. Think windey road. I try to avoid full lock unless necessary. And I did check, my hub are not locked.
Check your ball joints. One of mine did the same thing except it would only do it when braking heavily. I cleared up the noise for now by shooting some lube into the ball joint. It's on the list to get replaced, but no time right now.
I see you're running 285's. If you have running boards the larger tires can rub. Check clearance on the bumper too, if not do what kwik did....see if it goes away.
My entire wheel hub/bearing assembly finally grenaded. It was just anoying until yesterday but got dramatically worst so I tore into it and there was no doubt what it was. It also explained my ABS light that is now gone.
