Does anyone know who manufatures the 4" and 5" optional tubular step bars on the 2006 F-150? I assume I could get them straight from Ford, but I would rather find out who makes them for Ford and most likely get a better price elsewhere... any info would be greatly appreciated.
Just an FYI, I got a set of Ford chrome step bars with my 05 F150. After 1 year they are pitting with rust and look like crap. Of course, the dealer says tough stuff. No warranty on it unless peeling and perforated with rust. Well, believe me, the way they look, it won't take long for that to happen. Wish I would have opted for aftermarket stainless steel bars instead.
Check this guy on ebay. -bonesenterprises (16044)- Lots of positive feedback, 99.5%.
I've seen him sell these on and off cheap. Only after I bought mine at the dealer. At least I got wholesale pricing. I got the 5" chrome supercrew nurf bars for $416. after taxes.
At www.fordaccessories they woud have cost me 399. Plus 90. for the 5" tube upgrade plus 35. for shipping which ='s $514.00.
Check with bonesenterprises first or try to get wholesale pricing at the dealer.
I bought a set of $129 (yep) stainless bars for my '04 STX work truck, since it was my money going into someone else's truck, and they looked awesome new last summer, and still look awesome now 50,000 miles later... I got them off eBay from a warehouse in the Detroit area- don't remmber the name right now.
