new shocks bottom out
I recently installed new rancho 9000 shocks on my '77 150 4wd. Now the suspension in the front bottoms out ,even in speed bumps. Now, I know the solution seems simple ,must have the wrong shocks. But the store I bought them from is no longer in business.O K thats easy, buy the right ones? Not so fast , when I went to a shock web site and looked up the part number for my truck it lists the one they sold me.(as per my receipt) Could be that they did'nt actually hand me the ones listed on my receipt.I should have noticed when instaling these that only about 2 '' of rod extended from the tube when installed. I guess the next step is to take some measurements and talk to customer service @ RANCHO. I want to stay with the adjustable shocks.Any other sugestions or HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANY OF YOU ???

Sounds like they just handed you the wrong shocks. I'd suggest taking a look at this page on Rancho's site: http://www.gorancho.com/products/app...ifications.pdf
If you scroll down it will give you specs on the 9000 series shocks, compressed and extended. You can compare these to the resting measurement on the truck and get an idea of what shock will work best for you.

Thanks Ivanribic, thats a great help. There are maybe two others that might work. I should have mentioned the truck has a 8' Lance cabover on it.The camper is well balanced and the truck settles down evenly when the camper is on. The truck may drop 1'' or maybe 2'' with the camper on. Anyone else have this problem?????
