Smile tranny return

Hey guys, does the tranny return line go to the rear of the tranny? I'll be installing a cooler and need to know which line I have to cut.
Any easy way to get to the cooler, I was going to loosen the AC condenser and try to fit my hand behind it. Any hints will be much appreciated, thanks for your help.

Yep - it's the return line that is toward the rear of the tranny!!

And... I left my stock cooler in place - and ran my TruCool in series with it. You can get to the stock return line where it goes from the hardline to rubber hose, at the front of the truck - that's where I tied mine into the system - the stock just has a hose clamp on it - no cutting at all.

I just finished putting one on my 99 PSD. I installed a 24000 lb Tekonsha Defender. Take off the flap between the grill and rad. Also remove the grill ! 4 screws. Take off the upper brackets to the ac cond and you have enough room to get to the OEM cooler ! Caution!! Drap a towel or rag over the top edge of the ac cond or your hands will get eaten up buy the fins. Remove the Oem return line in the cooler and put your your fitting and new line on ! I put some teflon tape on my threads just to make sure of no leaks. The other end of the OEM line has just a little hose clamp on it just remove clamp and plug in your new line from your new cooler and your done! I mounted my cooler to the cond right in front and just snaked the hoses around the side of the cond and under the front of the truck . Nice and neat install and tranny temps looks great! When you look down on the OEM cooler the return line is the one to the rear or intercooler side!! I can't wait to hook up my 30ft TT and hit the road!

Smokie, thanks for all the tips! I was wondering about the shredded hand syndrome from the AC cond. too.

I love this site

Don't worry about losing a bunch of fluid when you crack the line!! I think about a thimble full of fluid leaked out of the the line right at the OEM cooler . Just lay a rag under the cooler and you will have a clean and easy job!
