hey guys I have a 95 f-150. I was wondering what are some easy mods I can do to gain some power out of it? What are the stock hp and torque ratings anyhow? I am going to install the walker converter pipe and put a highflowing cat on it with a muffler (i dotn know what kind yet i wans a quiet one but one that flows good) any sugestons on that? what are some mods i can do to get this truck runnign a little better? it has a 5speed manual tranny behind it.
thanks,
Jimmy
i would try magnaflow. i think the ratings are like 145 hp if i can remember correctly. just do a search in this forum and you will find out. people ask this question once every couple of weeks.
adding some power, you could put in a new cam and rockers and port and polish the head for starters. that will net you a bit!

Stock ratings for a 95 MT are 150hp @ 3400rpm and 260tq @ 2000rpm, unless the rear gears are 2.73 or 3.08 the the ratings change to 145hp and 265tq. Those are fly wheel numbers, expect 25-30% drop for rear wheel dyno.
For performance gains there are as many opinions on how to do it as there are owners looking for "more power".
Seriously, if your just looking for simple things without getting into the engine your on the right path. Just be careful not to go too big with the pipes or you'll hurt exaust velosity. Things that will help it breath better (ie removing restrictions).
Less restrictive air filter. (personal opinion-FIPK not necessary. Drop in filter in stock airbox is a little better, just keep the ducting and box inner surfaces clean and you have a good "cold air box")
These little things can net you between 5-15% hp gains.
Ditto on the fipk, for a stock engine it flows way to much air and you gain nothing. Before anyone says otherwise, I am taking mine off and going back to the stock airbox so I am speaking from experience. What wieght oil are you running? A lighter oil will reduce some drag on the engine, not enough for sotp, but will help. Better gears will help on take off without hurting cruising speed to much, just don't get crazy, i.e. going from 3.08 stock to 4.56.
My 95 F150 is speed density. To see if it has mass airflow see if there is a mass airflow sensor just after the air filter box. Its between that and the throttle body. My uncles 96 F150 300 has mass airflow. His is OBD II though mine is OBD I. I believe 96 and later all had to be up to the new standards of OBD II.
No One Has Help On If I Cut The Second Cat Off It Will Help Me In Both Power And Fuel Mileage Bc Mine Likes To Make A Funny Sound When Puttin Boats In And Out Of The Water And My Shed It Sounds Likes Its Ready To Backfire But Dosent
