Well, a '93 4.0 would be OHV (pushrod) with OBDI. Not sure just what you mean by "engine diagram"...you mean an exploded view of the engine, a wiring or vacuum diagram? In any case, it would be a good idea to pick up a Chilton's repair manual.
I thought you might...! Again, your best bet there would be to pick up a manual. Probably not the best pics around but there might be something in there.

It's not a matter of not being able to talk about the book, it was the subject of copyright infringement that it turned to that was the problem. Personally I haven't seen the book, and it almost certainly would have what he's looking for but it's sort of a moot point since it's so hard to find.
Your best bet for a real and comprehensive manual will be to look on ebay for an Alldata or genuine Ford factory service manual. Shop a bit and you will see that they are priced very competitively when compared to haynes (outright garbage). They may/will make reference to Ford tools; a guy doesn't have to be very creative to get around this when working. And if it's a really goofy tool, there's a good chance you can just go rent it.

Fully aware of the details Dan...Just looking to see if Ken was awake today.
Ranger...Explorer...same difference Anyway, I'm finally finished with my other project and back to work on the Ranger. It's coming along, slowly...! Just so dang hot here right now that I don't have the energy to work on it when I get home from work, so I mostly just get done what I can on the weekends. I'm not even gonna try to give an estimate of when it'll be done...
If you check out which engine you have using the VIN eighth digit from the left, I will email you the engine info you are requesting in pdf file format.

For this year there was only one engine option, nothing else to chose...unless someone made a swap at some point, it is a 4.0 with a single cam in the middle of the engine utilizing pushrods to actuat the valves.

Sorry, I thought it was an Ex for some reason. Don't even tell me about hot until you get to 115 F...couple that with 60-70% humidity. Sometimes I wished I still lived in Cali...but then again, actors for governors?
Well, it is cooler here than when I lived in Redding where it routinely got up to 118º, but I've just never done too well in the heat. And since I work outdoors, it's just no fun whenever it gets above 95º or so. At least it's dry enough most days to run the swamp cooler in the house. No A/C, and no functioning A/C in any of my vehicles.
