Pyro install?

So do you guys who have the sender on your pyro in the exhaust manifold do you just pull the manifold and drill and tap it at one of the exhaust ports? If so do they drill and tap ok?

take the manifold off befour drilling and taping you do not want any metal savings in the manfold since they will kill the turbo, or some people have drilled and tap with the engine running then the engine blows the shavings out as you drill

I've got the 6.0 and I drilled mine from the botton without removing manifold. Drill slow and the chips will fall straight down. No problem with them getting inside. If worried, after drilling, vacumm the hole you made. Was also able to tap the hole from the bottom too. Took all of 15 -20 minutes to do complete job.

Drilled and taped mine in place on the passenger side, second cylinder from the front.

Just removed the RF tire and mud flap to get good access to the manifold.

There should be little chips falling in. As said above, if you are worried just vacuum the hole.

Seb....

The engine is out of the truck and sitting in the shop so I will have an easy job of it. It doesnt matter wich exhaust port to put it in does it?

Port should not matter but by using the 2nd cylinder from the front on the passenger side you should have good probe access for the future when the engine is in the truck. Make sure you drill and tap the heavy area (looks like it was meant for a bolt hole) of the manifold. This way you take the least risk of possible cracking the manifold later when it gets hot.
