Question 300 Exhaust Problem

Well I installed a cherry bomb on my truck today. Everything worked out okay in our redneck install, but as I drove more and more it got louder and louder. Then it sounded like I had major exhaust leak, which I do, but it sounded more pronounced. It later progressed into kind of a ticking sound and rattling. It would stop when I got on it and I would still have power, it was just annoying. Then later it got to the point where I did not have near the power and the sound was constant. I made it home okay, but I don't know what the problem is. My friend and I were thinking when we opened the exhaust that something broke from me stomping on it a little. We also thought it could be the TFI module maybe. I have an '89 F250 5spd 4x4 single cab, I need help. Thanks!

exhaust leak wouldn't be the reason for the power loss. I'd go with the tfi module. More flow usually means more power. The computer might be screwing up with the extra flow, not knowing what to do with it. Did you pull the cats when you put the cherry on?
