And Thanks For The Reply. Well I Added The Frion, It Seems To Be Holding Pressure Because When I Push The Pin In On The Unit It Will Blow Out. How Do I Check If The Compressor Clutch Engages?
by the way. great site, and great info!
just bought a 93 bronco and love it! but gas is exp! =)
With the engine running, have a friend turn the A/C control to MAX. Watch the front of the drive pulley on the compressor as this is done. If the clutch is engaging, you will see the front of the pulley begin to spin. When the A/C is turned off again it should stop spinning. If this does not happen, the clutch is not engaging. This happens for two reasons. 1) There is a problem with the circuit to the clutch solenoid or some sort of break in the wiring to it. 2) There is not enough refrigerant and refrigerant oil in the system to maintain sufficient pressure and the fail-safe pressure switch is not allowing the clutch to engage. DO NOT attempt to bypass the pressure switch! Without enough pressure in the system, you will ruin the compressor. The wiring for the clutch circuit runs up to the compressor via a two-wire connector with a BLACK and a BLACK/YELLOW wire in it.
