quick question on gear changing

quick question on gear changing
on my 8.8 and ttb, i want to go from stock gears to higher. 4.56 or 4.88. Do i just need a ring and pinion? Or are there other componets that i have to change?

There's a carrier break on the Dana 44 up front, around 3.92 or so I think, so you'll have to change the carrier as well as the gears unless you're already over that. I believe the r&p is all you'll need for the 8.8.

I guess I should have said that's all you'll have to replace aside from miscellaneous hardware like shims, the crush sleeve out back, etc. Once you've got things opened up you may want to change bearings and such as well, at least that's what I plan to do.
