Looking to swap transmission

I am running an 87 F150 XL 5.0L EFI, I am looking to replace the tranny. I am thinking of getting a 5spd standard from an 88 or newer, is this possible?

Yes it is. The bellhousings between 300's, 302's, and 351's are all the same.

Does that include the 1 piecs transmissions? And would you have to change flywheels to go from a 3sp OD stick to a 5spd?

The flywheel is all about the motor. You find the trans that you want and bolt it up. That simple.

You will need to worry about the drive shaft, master cylinder, and clutch line matching the trans though.
