Typical cheevee mag. They think the world revolves around ugly trucks. It is difficult to find a Ford in that mag anymore and when you do they usually have cheevee power. I think if I see one more fat fendered Ford with chevee power I'm gonna puke! By the way 460 power in a Slick is stupendous!!!
Ya I agree, I'm going to let my subscription run out and not renew. I was real dissapionted to see that rust bucket 57 getting so much space and know they wouldn't consider a pic of my slick in the readers gallery. Rich
I agree with the comments posted; I too have let my subscriptions to both classic trucks & custom classic run out recently. Only recent article on Ford's was the 56 F100 supernationals give-a-way. Everything chev, and getting boring by the description...
I got sick of classic trucks magazine as well. Now I read Vintage Truck, I love it, found troucks I have never even heard of before. They show regular trucks not trailer queens. It is a must if you are into classic trucks.
Havn't heard of Vintage Truck mag's; I will check at the local books amillion for a copy and if it's good I'll try it out for a year.
Thanks for the post.
I save my $$$$$ & read or write what I want here rather than grow stacks of printed materials I find myself agreeing with less & less & get disgusted with more & more.
It slays me when I mention a Fleestide or Stepside is a BlowTie Brand & some expert comes back & tells me that's not what So & So magazine says.
WELL EXCUUUuuuuuuuUUUUUSE Me, I sure don't want to destroy a fantasy fer ya~!!!!
So now I put $$$$$ I save in the Future Traders Pockets, they pull my chain even better/ worse than the misinformation & pablum on printed pages.
Oh and thanx for the use of Soap Box as usual Boyz! . . . .
Classic trucks is sponsored by a bunch of Chebby parts dealers. So, they perpetuate the idea that it's a wonderful idea to shove their advertisers' chebby parts laden motors into a Ford truck.
I have not bought a single copy of Classic or Custom Classic trucks since I got a 'Special Christmas edition' that was bagged up and contained a Calendar. A Calendar right full of Chebby trucks.
I browse thru them at the magazine stand, and as soon as I see a Ford truck with an inferior running gear in it, the mag goes back on the stand. Saves me a lot of money.
I Used to watch "Trucks" tv show like a religion. Then, they started on a Ford fat fender which was to have a Cheb motor. Shut it off right then, never watched it since. If they are that big of idiots, they can't teach me nothing, I figure.
