what rear is this?
what rear is this? to me it looks like a spicer/dana 44, but i didn't think those were available on a 52 f1. the engine and tranny have been swapped, but it looks like the axle and suspension are all orig. Maybe they pulled this from an F2/3 or is it from a newer truck. I haven't been able to get underneath to look for a tag because I'm working on the wiring and can't start the truck.

Looks like a Dana 44 to me. I beleive the stock axle for 52 was the Dana 44. I have a '52 M1 and it has a Dana 44. I am sure it is the original axle. On mine there is a number 44 cast into the diff housinng on the lower right hand web (looking from the back). I had to clean off 50+ years of crud to see it though....
