sway bars?

i was cleaning up one of my trucks today and noticed it has a sway bar on the rear...it crosses over the rear differential.

my other truck does not have this. both are f-250's. both are 2wd. both have 3.55 rear.

did some come with this and some not or are there reasons that one would have it and one not?

The rear stabilizer bar was part of the handling package. And usually part of the trailering package.

These truck really handle much better with a rear bar.
