Step bars?

Anyone know how big a job it is to swap out Expedtion running boards for step bars? is it just a few bolts on each?

i took off the running boards on my 2000 eb expy, and it was pretty simple. just about 10 or more bolts (iirc) on each side and the plug for the lights. might want to get a buddy to hold it as you're taking the last bolts out, it's a bit heavy and awkward when you're lying on the ground with a makita in one hand trying to catch the running board after that last bolt.

if you get the correct step bars i'm sure they'll just bolt right up.

While i did'nt have to make a swap i did instl some Smittybuilt nerf bars and there
easy to put on, couple brackets and bolts and wala. I will also suggest that who
ever you buy the nerf bars from you spend the extra money and get them in
stainless steel one rock chip and they start to detieorate fast on anything else, Ive had them on my expy since 97' and while they maybe scuffed they are not rusting anywhere.I also instld myself the same brand brush guard.
