One thing about the B100 is that there is NO tax breaks from taxes as there is for blended fuel. I priced B20 and reg #2 the other day and they was the same price.
my dealership said they wouls support the warrenty up to b-20 but not 100 % everything I have read just says it is better for our trucks so ford needs to catch up
I have a 06 psd with very few miles but cannot locate b-100 anywhere close. Thought about making it myself but when I research I feel I need a chemistry degree has anyone on here tried making it themselves. thank Matt
Yes! There are a bunch of us making bio here. You should go here first: http://www.biodieselcommunity.org This site has a ton of info on making and using Biodiesel. Also search this forum, A lot of info here too, and we all share Biodiesel info.
Harleydiesel, unless you have 100K on the truck. FYI - Ford's position is B5 max. For what reason I don't know, but warranty could be voided.
This is from an earlier post and I copied it here it answers the question about the B5 limit.
WHY DO FORD AND INTERNATIONAL ONLY RECOMMEND B5.
Internationals position on the use of BioDiesel follows the official position of EMA (Engine Manufacturers Association).
That opinion is based on the fact that a 5% blend fuel (B5) using Bio that meets ASTM standard for BioDiesel (ASTM D 6751) also also meets the ASTM standard for Petro diesel (ASTM D 975).
Fuel that has higher concentrations of Bio do not meet the 975 standard. Work is currently underway to develop a B20 standard and the EAM will not sanction its use until this standard is developed
