I found a 1994 Ranger, blue, reg. cab long bed. 2.3L 5spd has about 88K on it, runs solid, and in very good shape. I must say it is very clean too. The dealership is asking $5995 for it. I drove it around for about 45 mins then showed my old man it. He is impressed with it and were really considering this one very strongly. What do you guys think????? BTW, everything is in tact and the clutch was redone about 10K miles ago.
The 2.3 engine is a little weak and you may find yourself having to shift on the hiway to keep it at speed. The 94 Ranger is a good truck otherwise. Prices will vary according to location.
Wow... $5995, in my opinion that is way way too much, probably more than twice what its worth. Its almost 10 years old... A brand new one with those specs retails for about $12-13,000. Is it 4x4? Even if it is, thats still way too much money even in excellent shape. I just checked Kelley Blue book, and they say retail price is $4100-$4400 for that truck. And trade in value is $1200-$2200. They also seem to be a bit high in all my experience with them... Check local papers and the auto trader to see what others like that are selling for. There are tons of those exact trucks out there.
Just to give you an example, I bought a 94 ranger over 3 1/2 years ago, its a supercab 4x2, 3.0 v-6, XLT, auto, cold A/C, matching fiberglass cap, power everything with just over 100,000 miles for $2500. It has been an awesome truck, and I still have it, its got 185,000 miles on it now, everything still works and haven't had any major problems with it..
We just got rid of a ranger that was a 94 super cab 4x4 4.0 litre auto and it had 150,000km on it and it was sold for $10,500 before it went through safety and detail. Right now those trucks are worth huge money up in the west coast of Canada. i think it sounds like a fare deal if you can get it for $5200 or so.
hi i just purchased a 1992 ranger two wheel drive xlt 2.3 liter in great shape for 600.00 with a new ford crate motor(30,000 miles on motor)trucks got 230,000..... its got a/c that works... kelly blus book is around 2200.00
