leaf springs
i dont know how it happend but the passinger side middle leafspring broke, forward of the axle. The middle spring is still there from the front of the u bolt back.
how hard are they to change out? i have plans on using a set of lighting springs. pulling a leaf out of them and changing the middle leaf on both sides on the ranger. has anyone done this before to a ranger?

You may want to check the width of the Lightning springs. Usually the full size truck springs are wider than Ranger springs. You can use other years of Ranger springs or Explorer springs. I added two leaf springs from a 91 Explorer to each side of my 90 Ranger supercab to give it more load capacity. This was over ten years ago. One of my original springs had broken similar to yours. You may need to have a local source for axle u-bolts and maybe the spring pack bolt in the middle of the springs which helps hold them all together. This is incase one of these bolts breaks when you take them apart. It's not all that hard of a job to change springs.
