Better than Acetone!
I know this topic has been well covered, but this might help someone who has not yet removed the paint from the factory badges. Maybe the acetone was old, but it did not remove the paint using a q-tip. While at the local parts store I came across Auto Strip. I sprayed some on a q-tip and a soon as it touched the paint it bubbled the paint and I used a shop towel to just wipe it off. No rubbing and scrubbing. This stuff is thick and does not run and is easy to do while badges are mounted on truck.

Maybe I am just brave or stupid. I waked out the garage to spray on q-tip. The aresol stuff is like a glue or foam. At first I was real concerned and careful, but after completing the first one the rest were quick with little fear of an accident. Just another idea to repair the factory defect without much labor.
