ive got an 88 B2 automatic transmission with a manual transfer case could i put an electronic transfer case in it? how hard would it be and how much do u think it would cost
2) it can be done, you'd just have to find a t-case with the electric/electronic shifting setup and take it along with the shift motor / solenoid and wiring harness. Not sure of the cost, but I'd venture to say over $100 easy.
I'm guessing so -- although, I'm not quite sure that the pushbutton-equipped models have the cutout for the manual t-case shifter. I guess you'd have to pull up your carpet and see if it has a swappable / removeable floor plate around the shifter(s). If not, then it would be a matter of modifying your floorboard for the manual shifter.
I personally don't like the pushbutton models because the shift motor can go out, and it leaves a lot more to fail, especially if you do a lot of offroading through water, etc. Maybe you guys can swap parts
i got a 90 b2 with the electronic transfer case and i hate it, its all the time giving me trouble. Half the time it wont go into 4x4 high unless you put it into low range first and then turn low range off. I think you are better off with the manual.
