I have a F250 7.3L with 93k miles. I have had no engine problems so far. I have had two new transmissions since the original. My concern is that it appears that my engine is getting louder. This is very noticeable when I come to a stop and the engine idles, then in about 1 or 2 min the engine will calm down. It sounds like oil is not getting to the valves. Is that possible?
What year? Some of the thoughts that spring to mind are air entering the fuel system via the o-ring connections at the fuel pump and at the tank, maybe a weakening fuel pump. If you have been taking in air, it may have been slowly damaging an injector. Could low HPOP cause this? Probably not... HP crossover may help some. Whan was the last time you changed your fuel filter? What type oil do you use? Fuel additives? Need input! Stand by for more experienced answers.
2001, I keep the fuel filter changed about every 6k miles. I use Rotella oil. I have not used additives (maybe I should?). I don't know what HP crossover is, can you please explain?
