Data Logging

Is there a product for downloading in real time, the data being generated by the truck. This would not necessarily be a Programmer/Tuner, it could be Software for your laptop. I would like to be able to do this with no time limits on what I record. In other words: Laptop on seat and me driving around town and storing all data. Anyone does this???

I know of two right of the top of my head... but the costs would be 2-3times more than that of the Edge (or similar) programmer. I know Edge allows real-time data acquiring...at least according to their website they do. I'm assuming this is for a 150?

I was hoping Davis (Davisnet.com) would have had something out by now, but they only seem to have the Data Logger chip. They also seem to have some fleet use items used for data logging but i'm sure that's purely the basics for corp. financial use.

My customers use a direct canape' "CAN" to OBDII connections for vehicle "feed-back" or a DaQ type system requiring more "Direct" connections to different pieces of eletronics/senders and transducers throughout the vehicle.

You know, I just started looking into this stuff a short while ago and I really liked the idea of the Edge with attitude. It seemed like the perfect solution: Minor adjustments and sensor display. I really liked that it had a pod with it. However I wasn't too enthused when I realized that I had to buy a chip called Juice?? It seems like a lot of money, I don't know exactly how much it was for the whole getup. Then as I was reading up on it i believe it was not for the 150 (which I have (2005 Lariat)) or at least the pod was not. Anyway, I'm in the Persian Gulf right now and don't have access to a phone or I would just call 1 of the outfits advertising here. I think I'll give up on Data Logging and if the Edge+Attitude+Pod would work I would be quite happy with it.

Hi Saltysteve,

Actually, there are a number of products that will do what you want - for info on that, please give us a call at our number listed below - or if your assignment/location prevents that, feel free to shoot us an email & we'll provide you the info that way.

Additionally, with regards to getting tuning for your vehicle, we have specialized in tunign this Ford set of platform vehicles longer than anyone else, and are routinely called in by a number of the major chipmakers to help them with their "off the shelf" unit's tuning development.

What will get you the best safe & sustainable power & performance gains is our custom tuning, and if you like, we can provide both that *AND* the datalogging capability in one device at a very reasonable cost - we provide special discounts to members of Ford-Trucks.com

I hope this brief info helps, & please feel free to drop us a line!

Stay safe,

Thanks for your post, & best of luck!
