1992 4x4 problems
A friend of mine recently bought a '92 police interceptor Bronco with a 302 and what I guess is an E4OD tranny (o/d kill on the end of the shifter). It is a bare bones Custom package truck with a/c as the only option. The 4x4 doesn't work and he knew it wasn't when he bought it (it's been out for a while... another friend owned it before and has had it for three years and up until about a year or so ago it had been working). It has the floor mounted transfer case selector and automatic locking hubs. At this time I don't know if the ratio changes when 4LO is engaged, or if the light even comes on when in 4HI or 4LO, but I can find out. The front driveshaft IS installed. Could anybody possibly help us out trying to get it fixed? Everything else on the truck works great, and it's one of the fastest 302-powered Fords I have ever driven!

You can start by searching out posts talking about weak points of the the front driveline.......like the auto hubs (pure crap), or the shifter linkage. Or even the fact that the trans should be in N to shift into 4X4-Lo.
In any case we would need a bit more info as to what is going on when you (your friend) is trying to engage the 4X4.
