My front end is sagging on my 91 f-150. I bought some of those coil spacers that you put in the coil and twist in. It says on the pack to put two on each coil on either side of the same space in the coil. Well I put them on both sides of the truck, two spacers per coil and It really didnt do much. What I was wondering is can you put 4 on each coil? And if you can does it help? Like if you put two on the top and two on the bottom of the coil? Not sure if it would help or hurt.
Let me back up for a sec, I dont think its actually sagging but I think its the typical 2wd front end lower than the rear end problem. I have always owned 4wd and its killing me to not see it level. I looked for leveling kits but I cant find any for a 91 F-150. Thats why I bought the spacers to see if it would raise it enough, but I think it needs a 2 inch leveling kit to make it even. So actually its not really sagging anymore than a normal 2wd front end is, it just doesnt look right to me since I have always owned 4wd. Thanks for the reply!
theres a thread not too long ago about lifting his truck 2-3 inches...
I'd imagine the truck has a few miles on it, with the stock coils.. Theres lift companies that have a leveling kit which is just coils. I'd go with the skyjacker softride coils and their skyjacker nitro shocks. I know for sure rough country has this lift, but they arent as good of coils as skyjackers..
an older truck like this will usually sag over time with all the weight of the engine on them, heres my personal opinion, a 2wd wouldn't look right jacked up in the front, unless you use this truck for hauling i would suggest new stock size springs in the front and lowering the back 2''
I had the same issue with my 92 f150 sitting to low in the front. I found this place, they have leveling kits for cheep. I ordered one of their kits, just waiting for it to arrive now.
I kit that I ordered was a K31018. That is the kit for the F150 4x4. I understand there will be a need to get an alignment done. not a problem. The sag in the front of my truck at the moment, makes the tires toe out quite a bit so I think by adding this kit it should correct the toe back to where it should be.
Ride height won't affect the toe. If your toe is out, it needs an alignment.
Skyjacker sells a leveling kit for 2wd trucks for this exact reason. For some reason, Ford decided the truck would look right with a rake - the rear sits quite a bit higher. My truck is the same exact way. The leveling kit will fix the problem, but like everyone says, you need not only an alignment after this, but new alignment bushings. Some alignment shops won't know what you're talking about and will claim that the alignment can't be changed. They are wrong. A good 4wd alignment shop will be able to install the correct bushings and get the alignment to spec.
There's a user here, his username is Dale Gribble. He has a 2wd truck and I believe he installed the skyjacker levelling kit. PM him and ask him - I'm sure he'll tell you all about it.
