I love the Chevy argument. It always ends with "but it's faster". Its ugly, dated, and can't haul as much, but it's faster. If having the fastest truck is more important than having a good looking, heavy hauling, and long lasting truck by all means get the Chevy and stop trolling this forum. Then in two years or so when Chevy goes down to number two or three because Ford or Dodge is making the fastest truck trade the Chevy in and get that one and start ranting about how great it is. This is what happens when you look at only one thing in this case speed. Item for item Ford has more of the features I'm personaly looking for of the three. As many have stated if I want speed as well I can get this by doing a couple of cheap mods. It would not take much to make the Ford as fast or faster than Chevy. Chevy on the other hand there is no mod for ugly.

Batgeek! Very well said and IMO true as well. All I ever see around here in south ILL, besides an overwhelmng number of Ford trucks, is chevy's with some loud modded exhaust system and maybe a cheap lift kit to get it as big as a factory Ford. Of course, they're all shined up with not so much as a blemish and ready to fill mall parking lots everywhere while the majority of Ford's are busy out taking care of the work, and looking great doing it. Can't be disputed as I see it all the time!!

all i know is i came back from my trip to the dump had my Ford V6 full of old carpet and other general waste and I tell ya its a Ford Nation wheer I live theres still a good mix but i seen 70 Ford trucks compared to a combined mabe 50 Chev/Dodge its a nation and every chev/dodge owner should trade in there trucks for fords and be liek the tough guys cause when its come to tought theres only one "Built Ford Tough"

The writers liked the chevy for its sportiness and speed, but they also admitted they felt the Ford could get the job done and felt more stable, solid, and in control with the heavy trailer.
By the way, system redundancy is what saves lives in the aeronautical industry. It's not a bad thing.
A co-worker of mine tows the exact same trailer I do with his Duramax. He has had to add expensive after-market equipment to help him handle the same trailer. he complains it is too hard to stop, and it jerks him around. I have no such complaints. He has more power than I do, but I feel comfortable for hundreds of miles and many times forget the trailer is even back there.
He also admits he wouldn't mind owning the Ford.

I'd have to echo the sentiments expressed by pops, batgeek and moldman... As someone that pulls a big load (14k) with an 06 dually, my criteria for selecting a truck clearly wasn't based solely on how quick it makes it to 60 mph. Granted, I want speed and power but I also need control, comfort, stability, roominess, high weight/tow ratings and an 8 foot bed. For me, there really wasn't much of a decision: Take a look--> https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...115601&width=0
A critical item of note that I don't recall being mentioned in this thread is the conventional towing ratings: Chev & Dodge are 12,500 lbs and Ford is 15,000 lbs. One of my chev buddies had a 15k hitch installed on his truck and was quite surprised that my 15k hitch was stock. Also. Ford's 26k GCWR is higher than the others (23.5k).
All in all, different strokes for different folks: One size (or truck brand) doesn't fit all. Face it, the Ford stereo is inferior IMO. There are advantages and draw backs to all of them-To each there own... And mine tows and hauls more (legally) than the others

It will be interesting in '07 & '08 when both updated trucks are out.. The chevrolets new frame dmax/allis combo.. Plus the updated PSD with the 6.4tt.. I hope they both do very well. Need to keep Toyota and Nissan out.. With all the money both companies are losing rigth now and the higher gas prices, things could get interesting.
