Been looking for these everywhere but was wondering about trailers that would be the equivalent of a curtain sider semi trailer but in the form of a bumper pull for hotshot type work. I obviously don't know the right terminology to find these. Hotshot trailers all seem to be simple flat beds but tarps etc make loading too slow. Any help finding something would be great.
I didn't realise curtain side was such a rare thing over there - over here in Oz curtains are almost the default trailers for trucks etc. Examples for us: www.maxitrans.com.au - I drive what we call a B-Double which is the setup with a short prime mover and two trailers, 34 wheels all up.
I couldn't handle having to tarp up every load. And side loading etc is a big bonus versus hard walled vans. Oh well, you gusy are using 18 wheels too when we almost solely run 22 or 34.
Generally 22 wheeler single trailers are running 42500kg (93700lbs) with some running 45500kg (100300lbs) on certain roads etc. B-Doubles which mostly run 34 wheels are allowed 62500kg (137800lbs) with conditional up to 65500kg (144400lbs). There's bigger out there such as road trains etc.
