Cracked "Y" Pipe
2003 6.0 F350 with 43k on it and I had a check engine light come on. Tech traced it to a cracked "Y" pipe which gave a low back pressure code and they will have it fixed on Monday.
question: is it covered under the engine or emissions warranty ?
I believe it should be from reading an online copy of Fords warranty but I thought I'd check with you guys too.

Buzz Cut, I had the same problem (cracked y-pipe) in Alaska last year. My truck is an '03 with 75k miles currently. The only indication I had was smell in the cab. I have to say that I didn't have the problem when I left SoCal last year with the engine chipped with a SCT tow/haul program. While in Montana, the engine overheated big time while climbing a tough hill, shortly afterward the smell started working its way into the cab a startup. I think the overtemp cracked the y-pipe. Dealer in Alaska replaced it under warranty with no questions asked. By the way, I reloaded the stock program (at 35k miles) immediately after the overtemp, and haven't used the chip since, and haven't had a overheating problem since, currently have 75k miles. The cracked pipe didn't seem to effect performance at all.
