motors for the excursion
I have a 02 7.3 powerstroke and love it I get 15-17 mpg. Im looking at excursions for my wife 2000-2003 I would prefer a diesel but I saw they make the 5.4 triton. I dont want the v-10 but 6.0 7.3 or 5.4 whats everyone think. I had the v-10 in a 01 3/4 truck and didnt work out to well on fuel mileage. Pulled like a son of a gun but this excursion will be my wifes daily driver and it sure seems like shes always stacking up th miles. Thanks

My wife drives the Excursion as her daily driver. I drive the F250 as my work truck. When we go to the cabin we take the Excursion with the two labs and get 17-20 mpg. Together the two vehicles have 385,000 miles so I'm thinking at least one is finally broke in!!!
I'd like an Excursion for work with it's huge cargo area but would hate to wreck the inside of one in the roofing business. Thinking about adding a dually 99-00 7.3 only.
The 5.4 is only good in a 1/2 ton truck or suv. It took me 3 months to find my wifes Excurison and it's been a couple months of searching so far for the dually.

if you do a search you will find the mpg is about the same between the v8 and the v10 the v8 is over worked in this big a truck. only like 1-2 mpg differance in my v10 and a buddys v8 both 2wd
