I have a 04 supercab 6.5" bed. I want to rotate my tires over the weekend and wanted to know what was the best way to do so. I have a set of jack stands and plan to get another set so that my truck is in the air with four jack stands. Is this safe? How do you guys do it?
It should show both jack points and jack stand points....
If it does not show the jack stand points, you can put a stand on each side of the diff half way to the tires. For the front, anywhere under the frame. Just make sure the truck is stable.
i just put a big floorjack in the middle of hte frame towards the front and lift that side up all in one shot and put the rear on the front and switch sides seemed pretty quick and easy like nascar
Its absolutely safe if certain conditions are taking into consideration. Jack points: front is on the frame rail right behind the front tires about nearly to the driver side door, and on the rear axle. Just be certain the surface your jacking the truck up on is solid (ie. concrete versus asphalt as asphalt will give some) and you should be more than fine. Oh and the lug is 22mm.
P.S. I am going to try to apply the non-squeak lube on the backing of the OEM pads to try to stop the squeaking. Wish me luck.
P.P.S- going to do an oil change as well with Mobil Synthetic 5-20w. I ran into a problem when i was trying to get an oil filter...3/4 or 22mm thread pattern...Got both and will return the wrong one. It's weird that Ford will make two different filter applications....
