Anyone know the bolt pattern/backspacing whatever else i need to know to get a spare for my truck? I need one for the offroad park i'm going to be taking it to.
The bolt pattern is 5x5.5.
The backspacing would be fine for any aftermarket wheel(around 3.5" backspacing).
I got some tow hooks from JCWhitney.com for about $10-12 a set, and I've seen the same type in LMCtruck, and off road magazines, but they seemed to have cost more.
I got the black ones like this, and they work fine. My bronco already had tow hooks when I got it, so the holes were there, but I'm guessing they should have the holes no matter what.
They're rated at 10,000 lbs, and your Bronco is about 5,000 lbs.
I wouldn't want to be stuck up to my bumpers, and have someone juck me with a chain connected to them, but for most cases, they're fine.
hm. thats what my first stuck was.. and thats how we got my truck out. haha.. I guess they'll be alright though.
do you know any good sites to buy wheels from? I googles around and i can't find anything but "bling" wheels. I just want a steelie to mount a spare on. I was thinking I might be able to pick one up at the junk yard though.
Junkyard wheels: CJ Jeeps have 5x5.5 bolt pattern and you might finds some on one of these.
Early model Dodge pick ups and Ram Chargers
and of coarse (67-96 I think), but 73-96 ford 1/2 tons will all have 5x5.5 bolt pattern.
Jegs.com has some cragar wheels that I was looking at, but I don't remember the name, but black steel wheels with big holes all around 15x10 for $40.
Other than that summitracing.com, or just look through some 4 wheel drive magazines.
That reminds me of the time in Canada I tried to tow a buried chevy. I yanked so hard it striaghtened the tow hook. I couldnt believe it. I did have it mounted to the frame real good. I also broke a u-joint in my front axle. We ended up coming back the next day and towing it out with three trucks! Of course, My Bronco drove through the same hole just moments before he got stuck. He said I dug the hole out. LOL.
