I need a passenger side mirror for my 99 Ford Expedition.
power, heated with signal in the mirror - original
I will also accept
power, non-heated with signal in the mirror
power, heated without signal in the mirror
Ford Dealer wants $330 for the entire assembly (I hit a mailbox while trying to pass a bottle back to the baby)
Has anyone had any experience with Ebay? I need to keep the "cap" from my mirror, and put it on the new mirror assembly. I don't know if the aftermarket ones on Ebay are identical that will allow me to do this. They seem to all come with black or chrome, and I want the same color as my vehicle to match the driver's side.
Go here http://www.kwmuth.com/ these guys are the OEM for the signal mirrors used on the Expy. Call them, tell them your problem and I am sure they will help you to your satisfaction.
nevermind, I just read you need a WHOLE assembly, not just the mirror. Those on ebay should be just fine, or goto a junkyard and get it cheaper there.
I purchased one last year after doing a similar thing - I lost the clips for the glass insert and had to buy a whole new assembly. Bought a non-heated, no turn for my '99 XLT for $50 or so including shipping from eBay. Some place on the west coast - name escapes me. Took me about 30 minutes to install. Been very happy with it - no problems and looks just like OEM.

Thanks, I'll end up doing that, do you know if the cap is interchangeable. In other words, they sell them in black and chrome, but mine is painted the same color as my truck. I was hoping to just reuse my old cap, but not sure if these cheap versions allow you to do that.
Not sure, mine is smooth black plastic and matched the old one, so I didn't have to paint or interchange the cap. Mine looked like it was all one piece (i.e. - no cap), maybe the chrome ones are different.
These things seem to be on ebay a lot, so I'd suggest e-mailing the seller beforehand and find out.
Otherwise installation was easy once you get the door panel off. Just three screws and the electric connector to remove and install the new mirror.
