howdy y'all! i just bought a '68 highboy with a 360/4-speed with manual steering and manual brakes. i was wondering, to convert it to power steering and power brakes, what parts would i need? i know for the steering i would need a pump, lines, and a power steering box. and for the brakes i would need a booster, but is that all, or am i dreaming? thanks for your help!
Is your truck a 2WD or a 4x4?
If a 2WD then your options are very good. You need to search the '61 - '66 forum for details about this swap. Essentially you can transplant the power steering setup from a '70 or later truck as an almost bolt up deal. Look for information on the Saginaw power steering gearbox.
You'll need the engine brackets and pulleys for your specific engine, though.
Power brakes are similar. If you stick with your drum/drum setup, you can transplant the power brakes from a '70 or later easily enough, but you will need a drum/drum master cylinder - not one for front disc brakes.
