return line kit

return line kit

my 1990 f250 7.3 has a1988 engine in it asfar as i know its never been replaced but i need to get a new return line kit not sure witch to order was it common to put older motors in at the factory all i know is im ready to junk it

The return line kit is the same for all IDI diesels.
The turbo ones do route the lines a bit different near the turbo, but still will work.

As far as an 88 motor in a 90, sounds like it has been changed at some point in time.
Where are you getting the 88 motor date from?

there is a sticker on the valve pan thats punched 1988 all of the kits ive seen the lines are on the side or through the middle mine are through the middle

Most non turbo return lines cross from left bank to right bank at the rear of the engine.
Since the turbo puts the downpipe right where the crossover line is located, the turbo equiped motors cross from bank to bank at the front of the engine.

There is usually a return line from the fuel filter that is not needed.
There is a return line from the IP that is needed.
And there is a bleed off on each injector that is needed.
Where and how the return lines are connected is not important as long as each injector and the IP are tied to the return to the fuel tank.
