About three weeks ago my wife was using my truck. She calls me and ask what does 4 low mean? The truck is hard to steer. I tell her how to get it out and everything is fine until.
After my truck sits over night I have a wine in the front end. After I go 10 or so miles it stops. If I put it in 4 high the wine goes away. Change back to 2 high the wines back.
Ant thoughts on what this could be?
From my experiance when you put the truck into 4wd move, the steering gets heavier, i guess from all the mechanicals running. Anyways Was your wife useing the 4wd mode on dry pavement? If so how fast and do you do the same?
By the way your truck may have come with an instructional VHS tape that explains your 4wd system. But I believe 4-low provides a higher gear ratio to make it easier to get out of tight spots, or if your hauling a heavy load in less than ideal conditions.
What kind of driving did she do in 4 low, and on what kind of surface? I will be honest, Im not very optomistic about what you are about to tell me.....
Wifey. DO NOT! Repeat, DO NOT push any butons...Go from D to R to D and P on the gearshift lever. Use key to start truck!! Again, DO NOT PUSH ANY BUTTONS!!
If you are still under warrenty. I recomend playing Dumb and taking it to the dealer. Tell the service man that it just started making noise. Leave out the parts about your wife.
Are you SURE she was in 4-lo? To put it in 4-lo, the vehicle has to at a stop, or barley moving. Certain conditions have to be met, otherwise it will just not go into 4-lo. Ask her if it actually lit up on the dash "4-lo", or did she just see the switch in 4-lo? Once again, I'm just assuming you have the electric shift t-case, not the manual lever on the floor.
Its auto shift just turn the **** and there you go. She said it was like that whan she got in never said how far she went. Trust me somehow it will be easer for me to take the blame for this one somehow.
Anyway why whould it wine in 2H and not in 4 wheel drive?
