Explorer Transmission ??

Hey I have a 94 explorer automatic trans. It seems to drag in forward gears as if you were power braking it, it absolutely will not move in reverse. I really don't have any history with this vehicle. It belongs to the sons in laws.

sounds more like the trans has seem better days. no reverse means a clutch pack or seals for the piston have failed . if you plan on a rebuild .doing it your self try our shop for the parts www.levelten.com

It seems more like something is bound up it is like the converter is stalled out not like its slipping.

if the convertor is shot so is the trans from the over heating and there is more involved then you may think that caused the convertor to go.

I have the same problem with my 92 as you described. What was the problem with yours? I dont think it is the TC. I can put mine into neutral and push it forward but cannot push it backwards.
