Straight piped the truck the other day and wow it's a different animal. I can really hear the turbo now among other things and I do believe the engine is breathing a lot better. My concern is this, any long term adverse affects from such an open exaust? I realize this is rehashing some issues with long term psd owners but this my first psd. Also the ebpv mod, to turn it in to an exaust brake. Is this easy to do? This may be somthing I need to do before vacation in Sept.
Thanks again, Bill
yep that is a really awesome sound. no adverse affects from less resistance. the turbo likes as little backpressure after it as possible. it's alot easier on the engine.
here is the link to Kwikkordead's thread on how he did the EBPV to his truck
should not be leaking this out, but my teacher is designing or in the stages of designing a Jacobs Brake system for the powerstroke head, that will fit under the stock valve covers. no one will be able to see it without an extremely trained eye. in reality i don't think it will happen, but i would be the first to have one.
