i bought a set of flowtech headers for a 69 with a 302 to see if they would fit the 351w in my 65. guess what they dont stinkin fit. headers are hitting the bell under the starter and the head bolts hit the flange. does anyone have any idea what headers wil fit as i dont really want to go into the header modification business. thanks Don
Have the Hooker long tube headers for 302 in my 65 F100. As already aware, need to remove starter and lift engine enought to set headers in compartment then engine onto mounts. I had to grind very little off the passenger side of crossmember, just enough for clearance between header flange and exhaust pipe, or extention. I used the Hedman offset extentions to address issue of getting exhaust around transmission crossmember. An FTE member posted a picture from his gallery on refabricating tranny crossmember for the exhaust pipe. Really a trick solution, a search may be able to locate. Thought I had bookmark, have not been able to locate it, if so will post.

I have a '65 with a 289 (I think this should be the same) and I just purchased a set of Summit headers. I ordered them for a '65 mustang with a 289. They worked great. This might or might not work for this engine. You can call the and explain what you have. Their tech line should be able to help.
P.S. ( donsboy ) I have had trouble with the bell housing clearing on some of
the trucks that I have built, that had (FMX) or a c-6 ,but on the trucks with a
c-4 headers worked very good every time! Manual trans trucks they worked
very good also. Like (dave) stated you will have to jack up passenger side
a litle and it will fall right in.

The problems with your headers are most likely because the 351 has a higher deck height than the 289/302. ie. the 289/302 headers are too short for the 351. I know from experience that in early Mustangs 351 headers hang too low on the 289/302. Perhaps if as stated above '65 stang 289 headers fit on a '65 truck then maybe a set of '67 mustang 351 headers might also fit. This might be dependent on the type of header (ie Tri-Y/shortie/long tube) or specific manufacturer. Shorties may also be a solution. I would also check for 351 headers for the trucks up through '79 as I would think that they would fit.
